Location
St Ives Bay is one of the most beautiful bays in Britain, with long sandy beaches on both sides of the estuary, where it enters St Ives Bay. The Norman church of St Uny looks across the estuary towards the fishing town of Hayle and its RSPB sanctuary.
A short walk takes you to Lelant Halt where you will find the St Ives branch railway line which runs through the village and along the cliffs to Str Ives via Carbis Bay: some services stop on request! If you prefer, there is a Park and Ride facility from Lelant Saltings. Either option gives you access to the easiest and most scenic way into the popular fishing town of St Ives where there are also many art galleries and studios which are sometimes open to visitors
